Quaint and fairly clean hotel with fantastic friendly staff apart from the obviously overworked manager. Had classic double room with a hot tub, bath, for instance. A wide range of great food at breakfast time.

Fine views and cozy vibes
Had this amazing double room with fab views over the South Downs. The terrace was perfect for sipping wine at sunset. Dinner was pretty tasty, but they ran out of some good stuff by 8pm. Oh, and the generator noise was a bit annoying at night.

would happily return
The beautiful double room had a comfy bed, a tv, and free toiletries. Nice touches like a tea/coffee maker and a hairdryer were great. Breakfast had a lovely view of the meadow and options like freshly made pastries. The dining area served up generous portions, especially the Sunday roast. Plus, the selection of local ales was a nice bonus.

Decent Stay with Room for Improvement
The classic double room felt a bit cramped at first, but the radiator helped. While I appreciated the beauty of the surroundings, a lukewarm shower and slow, cold breakfast were disappointing. Tip, Ask for your meal early if you're in a hurry.

The classic double room was surprisingly snug and super comfy with a great-sized bathroom and warm underfloor heating. I loved chilling on the sun terrace and enjoying some quiet time in the lovely garden areas. Just a heads up, the tea was a bit on the skimpy side, but overall, it was a nice stay! 😊

The location was beautifull with fine views, comfy bed and great breakfast. Breakfast had a good choice and quality. Staff were super friendly. Nice tea/coffee facilities in room too with biscuits and bottled water.
The room was a bit smaller than expected and could have used better soundproofing. Had some trouble with a flickering security light that woke me up at night.

Fine views from the dining area, unique historical features, beautifully maintained beer garden
Inconsistent room lighting, minimal parking spaces during peak times!!! The overlapping noises from connecting rooms make privacy a luxury rather than a standard!!! Room cleanliness should definitely be prioritized better!!!

charming, charming, charming
I stayed in a Classic Double Room with fine views of the garden with a beautiful backdrop for our stay. Dinner was good, and the menu featured amazing treats like the best black pudding I've ever tasted! Breakfast was vast with generous portions, setting a perfect tone for our day ahead.
